Hello and welcome,
My name is Kerry and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor based in Loughborough.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. You may find yourself here for many reasons. You may be struggling with a recent life event, you may be seeking understanding or acceptance around something in your past, or you may feel as though something is not quite right. Whatever the reason, I am here to help and ensure you are not alone in this journey.
My own experience of personal therapy has informed how I work as a clinician. I understand how daunting and scary starting therapy can be, I also know what a difference having a warm, empathic, yet strong therapist can have on that experience.
I provide a warm and respectful relationship with my clients, this allows them to explore their feelings and experiences without being judged and come to a better understanding of themselves.
As a humanistic and integrative therapist, I believe that we are all beautiful and unique, this uniqueness is celebrated. I also believe that we are all capable of change, and that this change can happen when people are offered a relationship which is different to what they have experienced before. By building this relationship together, it offers a reparative experience to clients, where they feel heard, understood and cared for.
This togetherness continues as I aim to empower clients, offer opportunities to make the changes you want and to work towards achieving your goals. By offering open ended therapy, something which I feel is special and unique, it gives power to the client to choose what length of time is most beneficial to them.
Finding the right therapist for you is really important, because of this, I offer a free of charge, 20 minute phone consultation for new clients. This allows you to ask any questions you may have about the therapy I offer and to make sure that we are a good fit to work together. Any subsequent session will be charged at the usual fee.
Please feel free to email, call or message me on the contact details found at the top of the page, if I am unable to respond immediately, I will respond as soon as I am free and this will usually be on the same day.
I look forward to working with you.

What happens in my first session?
During the first session we will usually go through the working contract together, covering things such as confidentiality, cancelling sessions and fees. We may discuss what has brought you to therapy and discuss what your goals might be from therapy if you have any at that time. Whilst some therapeutic work will take place, this is an important session to help you feel safe and build trust between us.
What happens if I miss a session?
We all have life commitments that can interfere with therapy, usually if these are discussed in advance, we will be able to reschedule our session to suit this.
If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full fee for the missed session. This is to cover the cost of overheads, my time and the potential opportunity for someone else to be offered that session.
How long will it take for therapy to work for me?
There is no one size fits all answer for therapy, every person is different and will respond in different timescales. By working together, we can discuss what feels right for you and review this regularly so that you are getting the most out of your time in therapy.
